Renewals

Do I have to do anything to renew?

Short answer

Often your plan renews automatically, but it may change. You should still review your renewal notice and confirm your plan still fits before the deadline.

Automatic renewal

Many individual and Marketplace plans renew automatically if you take no action. If your plan is discontinued, you may be moved into a similar plan.

Why you should still check

Premiums, deductibles, networks and drug lists can all change from year to year. If you get financial help through the Marketplace, it's recalculated each year based on your updated information.

What to do

  • Read your renewal notice.
  • Compare next year's costs and benefits with this year's.
  • Check that your doctors and prescriptions are still covered.
  • Update your income and household details if you get financial help.
